EASY Soy-less Egg Fried Rice Recipe and Method

I really don't mind fried rice like this, but I know it triggers a lot of people, to me if it taste good I don't care lol, fair warning this is sodium heavy, remember I'm just hear to teach how places do it, its not what I'd do, and its mostly fast food :)


Ingredients: (serves 2)

500-550g cooked and hot high grade long grain rice - Click to buy

2 beaten egg

3/4 tsp MSG - Click to buy

3/4 tsp Salt

4 tbsp Veg oil


Method:

  1. Cook your rice using a rice cooker.

  2. When done add your oil to a wok.

  3. Allow to get hot then add you beaten egg.

  4. Let the egg sit for 5 seconds then stir, this creates the ribbons of egg, stirring to early will make the egg go bitty.

  5. When the egg is cooked add your hot rice and stir in.

  6. Season with your salt and MSG, making sure to mix it in well.

  7. Letting the rice sit for 10-20 seconds allows it to "catch" which gives you that smoky flavour.

  8. Cook for 2-3 minutes then serve.
