Fried Mushrooms recipe ingredients list

Fried mushrooms are one of the most ordered side dishes in any Chinese takeaway we’ve worked in or owned, personally I hate the texture of mushrooms, there a hard pass but the flavour is amazing, I guess that because mushrooms are high in naturally occurring MSG and as we all know here, MSG has been proven time and time again to be safe.


5-6 large white mushrooms

1/4 tsp garlic puree (aged garlic, click here for video on how to make)

1/3 tsp MSG (sell on our webstore click here)

1/4 tsp salt

Pinch of sugar

1 tsp Chinese rice wine

100ml water

2 dsp veg oil

2-3 drops of dark soy (for colour) (sell on our webstore click here)

Potato starch slurry (sell on our webstore click here)

The sauce that made form this so amazing, goes really nicely with fried rice dishes, I’ve tried a couple of time to make it with the devil fruit (mushrooms) but it didn’t taste the same. One of the things I used to do as a kid was get my auntie to poor the excess sauce from this into a bowl, the after a few orders I’d have enough to pour over some chips, OMG, so so good.
